Galaxy Background

I had my first go at a galaxy background in Mickey's workshop
at one of the UK Stampers Network retreats last year.

Since then I have seen a few on You Tube - and then the other day I made a tag with a galaxy background that I had made.

I was quite pleased with it so... I decided to make it into a video:

 Here is the video:

 Thank you for watching!

You will see this tag...

You will see the background to this card...

Playing with Brushos and Stamps

Hi, Susan here!

Just taking a break from my October 31 Days of Halloween...

It is customary to add a piece of artwork to the front
of a 4 or More or Freebies Rule book.

This can be anything you like -
but this weekend I decided to have a go with Brushos and stamps.

The technique can be achieved in a number of ways and may need a bit of practice - but it is worth persevering as some of the results are pretty good!

Either spritz your paper with water, sprinkle the stamp with Brusho powders and stamp

Or sprinkle the stamp with powder, spritz the stamp and then stamp

Or sprinkle powders on your craft mat, spritz with water, pick up colour with stamp and stamp.

Or make a Brusho Stamp pad. Fold up a wet wipe or paper towel in a flat container and sprinkle with Brushos - spritz with water and use as stamp pad.

These are a couple of Freebies Rule books I made decorating the fronts using this technique:

Some stamps work better than others - I really liked the jar of flowers and the deer - my next example - a stamp of 4 flower pictures in a block was not so successful:

I ended up overstamping with black and adding colour with markers to make the fronts of these 4 or more books.

A Video from Susan Renshaw

Hi Susan here!

Today I have a new video tutorial for you using stamps from
 Happy Little Stampers.

This is the
'Perfectly Succulent' stamp set.

- a lovely set featured in their last new release:

I wanted to show you a few tips and ideas of how I might use this set.
I have stamped the images and sentiments on two different backgrounds - one using excess acrylic paints, one using alcohol inks.

Freebies Rule

Freebie Rule is another of the UK Stampers Network's lists and Member Susan Renshaw has written a great post all about it and how it works. Hope you enjoy reading about it.

‘Freebies Rule’ is one of my favourite ‘send around’s!
This is my collection so far:

We make a book using half an A4 sheet of card and decorated using a freebie from a magazine.
The freebie is included inside and the book is sent to 4 participants to see what they make with it.

Sometimes  the freebie lends itself to something straight forward.

Often it is fun to think ‘out of the box’!

Thank you Susan for a great insight into "Freebies Rule"
